Buying a Metrowest Massachusetts Bank Owned Home

Buying a bank owned home usually triggers visions in buyers heads that they will be coming a way with the deal of a life time. Instant equity and even the opportunity to turn around and flip the home for a profit. More often than not these are pipe dreams.

Bank owned homes in many cases do represent a solid value but nothing like you see in late night tv where the purchaser has already retired to a tropical island because they have bought and sold a few bank owned homes.

Here in Metrowest Massachusetts there are a lot more bank owned properties hitting the market. If you are considering buying a bank owned home there is quite a bit you should brush up on 1st. While these transactions do provide the possibility for good long term value, getting to the point where you actually own the property is not without it's headaches.

For a complete understanding of buying a bank owned home click on the link. This article will give an in depth discussion on things you need to be on the look out for when buying a bank owned property in Metrowest Massachusetts.

If you are a Massachusetts Realtor or even someone who is selling a home and needs to do a short sale, the fact that Fannie Mae has dropped the hammer on banks trying to reduce a Realtor's commission is welcome news!

Short sales require much more work from the Real Estate agents involved than a traditional sale. To read the complete story see on why this is such a victory for those that need to do a short sale in Massachusetts see Fannie Mae Short Sale Commission No Longer Reduced.

Hopkinton Makes Boston Magazine Best Places To Live 2009

Hopkinton Massachusetts has won the coveted award from Boston Magazine as one of the best places to live in 2009. According Boston Magazine's article Hopkinton was grouped into the "The Teflon Ten" which is the ten towns that are perceived according to statistical analysis to be primed for take off once the market starts making it's way back up again. These ten towns supposedly have not dropped in value like other towns have.

Having been a resident for 42 years and a Realtor for 23 I can vouch for the fact that Hopkinton is a terrific place to live and work. Hopkinton should be one of the towns that has a better than average appreciation rate when the Real Estate market does finally turn around. I do take exception to the statistics in the article though. I do not think they are accurate. According to the article Real Estate values since the peak in 2005 are only down -.40%.

I can tell you for certainty that market values have dropped in Hopkinton by more than around 1%. To read the full article see Boston Magazine names Hopkinton One of Best Places To Live.
